R.C. Market Report 1.22

  • Today: Most of yesterday's gains were lost early in the day. But once again, we had a rally that I find to be questionable. Are big buyers starting to nibble like the several bank CEOs that made stock purchases yesterday or is it the government? I don't have a clue.
  • Tomorrow: My view has not changed. The trade remains to the downside. Reaching Nov. low seems possible by early to mid next week.

1/21 - Market Analysis

SPX - unsure on tomorrow

SPY - still in downtrend

RKH - huge volume

XLF - at resistance

USO - bullish if it can add to gains tomorrow

VIX - headfake yesterday?

A/D - pretty bullish

ETFs - XLF and XLE lead for a change...good for bulls...

Analysis: unsure where all the buying came from today...no news, no support, so why the hell did it do so well? and on good volume too...i don't understand...maybe just a reaction to show how bullshit yesterday's action was? i dunno...anyway...we had good news from AAPL after the bell and more earnings 2m from GOOG...maybe tech will lead the market making for a 2nd straight day of gains...for now though, i sit confused on what happened today...stock picking is the best for tomorrow...SPX will only confuse u...

R.C. Market Report 1.21

  • Today: Strong comeback today led by financials and oil. We got close but failed to engulf yesterday's candle.
  • Tomorrow: Technicals remain unchanged. Current downtrend is still intact. Fundamentals remain unchanged. Today's batch of positive news didn't contain any resolutions. However, today's bullish action did put us in a position to go into rangebound trading opposed to free-falling. I still see the market heading lower but with days like today, the likelihood of the Nov. low support holding increases.

1/20 - Market Analysis

SPX - broke support, down we go!

SPY - bearish

XLF - very bearish...no support

XLF weekly - very very bearish

USO - nearing support

UUP - broke through resistance...commodities bearish

VIX - broke resistance...bearish SPX

A/D - bulls taken out back and shot

ETFs - short financials, long safety plays

Analysis: pretty clear that i am in bear mode right now...look at the charts...broken supports on important charts and broken resistance on inverse charts...this is horrible...nothing bullish going into tomorrow at all except the possibility of a huge crash in the morning followed by some huge obama-sized bailout to prop the markets way back up...short of that, and i don't see any reason not to sell any rips...take a look at the chart below from "marketwatch.com"...interesting...i say obama has a good chance to make G dubbya look good...damn i miss that guy already...

R.C. Market Report 1.20

  • Today: The most bearish day of this new year resulted in 5% decline in major indices. Market was pressured down all day long as bank stocks got hammered. It's apparent that banks will no longer be the same, for the few that are able to survive this crisis. The speed of the resumed downtrend on the banking sector is quite scary.
  • Tomorrow: The trade is to the downside and it seems highly likely that the Nov. low will be tested. Any speculative plays to the upside should only be considered when we reach that low.

1/16 - Market Analysis

SPX - on support...bullish bias

SPY - broke downtrend...slightly bullish

XLF - on support, bullish?

RKH - lower low, lower close

USO - side

VIX - SPX bullish

A/D

ETFs - safety stocks outperforming, XLF lagging

Analysis: charts show me that i have a right to be slightly more bullish than a few days ago...i like the strong hold on many of the charts these past few days even though the market had very little reason to be optimistic. anytime we can't panic and selloff during a long week of bad news is a bullish indicator...but even if we do get a reversal, we are in the infant stages of it...its ok to hold calls but i decided to take profit friday as i find it a better choice as we are directionless going into the big inauguration...ron paul for president!

R.C. Market Report 1.16

  • Today: Volatility remains but the market isn't going anywhere. It's just one step down and one step back up.
  • Tuesday: Downside remains more favorable than upside. However, Obama coming into office will result in a lot of government action (news). Be on guard.
